VoltVoice

Your solar and battery, on speaking terms. This page is the single source for how VoltVoice looks, moves and sounds.

Logo

A speech bubble carrying a lightning bolt: the voice and the volt in one shape. The wordmark is Fraunces Bold, outlined, with "Volt" in the base colour and "Voice" in amber.

Clear space

Keep empty space around the logo at least half the height of the bubble on every side.

Minimum size

Full logo: 120px wide on screen, 30mm in print. The bubble on its own: 16px.

Don't

Stretch it, recolour the bolt, add effects or shadows, put it on busy photos, or separate the bolt from the bubble.

The mark in motion

The bubble arrives, the bolt strikes, then the voice ripples out once. Used on first load, in videos and in social posts. Never on repeat in the interface.

Curves

--ease-out: cubic-bezier(0.23, 1, 0.32, 1) for anything arriving or leaving. --ease-in-out: cubic-bezier(0.77, 0, 0.175, 1) for things moving on screen. Never ease-in.

Timing

Interface: 150 to 250ms. Buttons: 160ms. Explainer scenes, such as the house on the home page, can run longer because they teach.

Principles

Only move what helps someone understand. Animate transform and opacity. Pause when off screen. Respect reduced-motion settings with gentler, still versions.

Colour

Night ink and warm paper do most of the work. Amber is the signal: use it for the one thing that matters on a screen.

For amber text on paper, use #A35F00 so it stays readable.

Type

Fraunces

Ask your home how it's doing.

Headlines and numbers. Soft setting on, weight 600. Italic in amber for the one phrase you want remembered.

Instrument Sans

VoltVoice connects your home battery and solar panels to your Google speaker, so you can hear the answer straight away.

Everything else. Regular for reading, semibold for labels and buttons.

How we write

Plain and warm

Write like a helpful neighbour who knows about energy. Short sentences. Everyday words: "battery", not "energy storage system".

Honest numbers

Only promise what VoltVoice does today. Say "about" for estimates. Never invent savings.

British English

Colour, organise, kilowatt hours. Money in pounds, with pence for small amounts.

Naming and other brands

VoltVoice works with other companies' products, and their rules apply to us. Get this right every time.

Do

Say VoltVoice "works with Tesla Powerwall and Google Home" in normal body text, the same size and colour as the words around it, as part of a longer passage.

Don't

Put "Tesla", "Powerwall" or "Google" in our name, a headline, a button, a logo or an ad title. Don't use their logos. Don't suggest they endorse us.

Always

Show the line "VoltVoice isn't affiliated with, or endorsed by, Tesla or Google" wherever we name them, and draw the battery and speaker as unbranded shapes.
