How we look after your information
Who we are
VoltVoice is a product of Flying Penguin AI Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17107961), registered office Unit 5 High Hazles Road, Cotgrave, Nottingham, NG12 3GZ. We are the data controller for the information described here. You can contact us at hello@voltvoice.co.uk.
If you join early access
When you reserve a place we collect your email address, your answers to the optional questions about your battery, solar panels and Google device, the country your request came from, and when you signed up.
We use this only to tell you when VoltVoice is ready for you and to plan how many places to open. Our lawful basis is your consent, which you give by ticking the box. You can withdraw it at any time by emailing us or replying to any email we send, and we'll delete your details.
We keep early-access details until you start using VoltVoice or ask us to remove them, and for no longer than 12 months after we launch.
When you use VoltVoice
To answer your questions, VoltVoice reads energy information from your home battery and solar system: battery level, whether it's charging, live power flows and daily energy totals. You connect your account through Tesla's own sign-in page. We never see or store your Tesla password; we hold a secure access token that only allows reading energy data.
We also hold the details needed to link VoltVoice with your Google account, your subscription status and your contact email. If you add your electricity tariff, we store that too so we can estimate costs and savings.
Our lawful basis is the contract between us: we need this information to provide the service you've paid for. We don't collect your location, recordings, or anything we don't need.
Information you submit through Tesla's systems is also handled by Tesla under the Tesla Customer Privacy Notice. Voice requests you make to your speaker are handled by Google under Google's own privacy policy.
How we protect it
Your information is encrypted in transit and at rest, access is limited to the people who need it to run the service, and VoltVoice can only read energy figures. It can't change your battery settings or control anything at home.
Who we share it with
We never sell your information. We use a small number of trusted providers to run VoltVoice, who may only use it on our instructions:
- Cloudflare, which hosts the website and service and stores data.
- Our payment provider, once payments open, to take your subscription.
- Our email provider, to send you service emails.
Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on UK adequacy regulations or the UK's approved contract terms to keep it protected.
How long we keep it
We keep service data while your account is active. If you leave, we delete your energy data and access tokens within 30 days, unless the law requires us to keep something longer, such as payment records for tax.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your information, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, object to how we use it, or withdraw your consent. Email hello@voltvoice.co.uk and we'll reply within one month.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. We'd appreciate the chance to put things right first.
Cookies
This website doesn't use advertising or tracking cookies. If you use the VoltVoice dashboard, a single essential cookie keeps you signed in.

If we change this notice in a way that matters, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, email you.
